October Poll Results

I'm happy to say that 88% of my voters are green commuters.

6 (66%)
0 (0%)
1 (11%)
2 (22%)
0 (0%)

Votes: 9

But I wish more people would vote. There's no way this is a statistically significant poll, so I can't use the data to really shout about how my readers are very cool and doing their part to be good green commuters.

Oh no, don't hate me because I can't use mass transit! I would if I could I just don't live in a city that was designed for it. We sort of have it here in Dallas, but it only goes on a straight line North/South right now. So if you don't want to get from the northern suburbs into downtown Dallas, you just can't use it. It's much much harder to put it in after a city has been developed obviously.

Donna, I couldn't hate you if I tried! What we now need to do is lobby Dallas for better public transit. We could add jobs by building a subway!

Like Dallas, Austin isn't well suited for public transportation. There's a new Park and Ride (an express bus) about 5 miles north of our house. But I can't justify driving 5 miles out of the way for my 12 mile journey. I do work from home 2-3 days a week and try to combine driving errands for the days I actually go in to the office.

We do also have (finally) a light rail system in the works and there's talk of expanding it.
