I had to share this:
There’s a new trend sweeping the nation’s offices. Men, from top executives to mailroom boys, are opting to wear high-heeled, wing-tip and loafers. We’re talking as high as 3-inch heels. So begins Eve Tahmincioglu's column on the ridiculous double standards of shoes at work. And I have to admit, I was wondering for a minute if the platform craze of the '70s was back. But of course, CareerDiva kids. No man would ever willingly torture his feet that way. Well, perhaps RuPaul.Since many men are not used to wearing these vertigo-inspiring shoes, web sites and self-help groups are popping up all over the country to help them learn how to wear the power heels with grace and style.
Joe, a vice president with a major consumer products company who would not disclose his full name, says, “My feet hurt all the time but I feel that if I want to be taken seriously in today’s job market and climb my way to the top, I need the stature that power heels provide.”
